Federal Duck Stamp modernization: In late 2023, the federal government modernized their Federal Duck Stamp validity and process. The printed and digital permits are valid throughout the entire waterfowl season. The actual Federal Duck Stamp will be mailed directly to the customer after March 10.  Orders placed after March 10th for the Duck Stamp will be mailed within 7-10 business days after purchase.

Hunting & Trapping Digest: Please be sure to select the option to include a physical copy of a Hunting & Trapping Digest with your order. A hunter can opt for lower S&H cost added to their online order by not selecting a physical copy of the Digest to be shipped with their order. Hunters can visit their local License Issuing Agent to pick up a copy or view a digital Digest here.

Buy a License

Purchase your license in person: Purchase your license in-person at one of these License Issuing Agents. See Exceptions below for licenses not available at a License Issuing Agent.

Purchase your license online: Licenses purchased online may take up to 10 business days to arrive. However, during high sales periods licenses may take up to 15 business days to arrive. Hunters ordering through HuntFishPA will receive an email to the email address on their profile when your license order is shipped. If you don’t receive your license within these timeframes, please see instructions below under Online Orders Not Received. See Exceptions below for licenses not available on HuntFishPA.

*Verify your mailing address: Remember to verify your mailing address when placing orders online to be sure your license arrives without delay. Hunters with an email address on their profile will also receive a digital copy of licenses and permits, no harvest tags included.

HuntFishPA provides the option for hunters and trappers to carry afield electronic versions of licenses they buy, as an alternative to carrying certain paper licenses. Harvest tags will continue to be issued in physical form on durable stock, and harvest tags need to be carried afield when hunting in big-game seasons or trapping in seasons where harvest tags are used. Hunters and trappers buying licenses online will continue to be mailed all durable stock license panels, including harvest tags, and will also be given access to e-Licenses. Those buying licenses from an issuing agent will be issued harvest tags at the time of purchase and will have the opportunity to have digital licenses provided through email. No signature is required on digital licenses. The license buyer attests to a statement, which serves in place of a signature. All big game tags must be printed on green license stock.

Online License Purchases Not Received:

During peak sales periods in June, July, and August (during antlerless deer license rounds), the overwhelming response to online hunting license orders creates a backlog at our fulfillment center causing delays in mailing license purchases. Backlogs are cleared as quickly as possible to avoid further delays.  Please allow for up to 15 days for delivery during these peak sales periods. If you do not receive your license within the extended time, please SUBMIT A TICKET for investigation.

If a hunter needs a license for small game hunting, digital licenses can be used so long as there are no harvest tags associated with the hunted species. If the digital copy was deleted or lost, the digitally accepted licenses are available through the HuntFishPA customer portal.

We apologize for any inconvenience to our hunters caused by delays and continue to work quickly to get licenses mailed. Licenses ordered in advance of the big game seasons are typically received prior to the season start.
