​​​​State G​ame Lands Driving Tours​

The Pennsylvania Game Commission is excited to announce our annual fall driving tours on state game lands this October! These driving tours provide an inside look at habitat projects as well as hunting and trapping opportunities on public lands across the state.   

All tours are free, held rain of shine, and are open only to vehicles licensed for travel on public roads.

​​NORTHEAST:

  • Sunday, October 6, 2024, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM on SGL 12 – Bradford County
      • ​Starting Location– Game Lands parking lot on top of Wheelerville Mountain on State Route 154, just south of Canton. (41.59331, -76.79151)​​
  • October 13, 2024, 9:00AM – 1:00 PM on SGL 57 – Luzerne and Wyoming Counties  
      • ​Starting Location– Game Lands parking area on Mountain Springs Road just off of State Route 487. This tour route will be altered from previous years routes due to storm damage to PGC roads/infrastructure throughout the game lands.   (41.38830, -76.27779)​​

SOUTHEAST:

  • October 20, 2024, 9:00 AM - 3:00PM on SGL 110 - Berks County
      • ​Starting Location- (40.552243,  -76.054135)
  • October 20, 2024, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM on SGL 211 - Dauphin County.
      • ​Starting Location- (40.406108, -76.818071) 

NORTHCENTRAL:

  • October 6, 2024, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM on SGL 311 - Benezette.
      • ​Starting Location- (41.341406, -78.369065) The roughly 3.5-mile self-guided driving tour will start at Dewey Road and pass through the Game Land to Porcupine Road.   *Please note, ONLY PennDOT licensed vehicles will be permitted on this driving tour. ATVs and UTVs are NOT permitted on tour.    
  • October  27, 2024, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM on SGL 252 - Union. 
      • ​Starting Location - Habitat Maintenance Crew Building 2495 Alvira Road, Allenwood (41.135009, -76.956739)​

SOUTHCENTRAL:

  • October 13, 2024, 1​2:00 PM - 3:00 PM on SGL 26 - Bedford Co. 
      • ​Starting Location- (40.29883, -78.640998.)  Gate 6 along Rt. 869
  •  October 20, 2024, 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM on SGL 67- Huntingdon Co.
      • ​Starting Location- (40.2163556, -78.1827349)​

NORTHWEST: 

  • None scheduled at this time.​

SOUTHWEST:

  • October 13th, 2024, 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM on SGL 108 - Cambria County, Reade Twp.
      • ​​Starting Location- (40.6598, -78.49579) North on SR 53, pass Marina Rd on the left that would go towards Prince Gallitzin SP about 1/3 of a mile on the right is the entrance. There are signs posted at the entrance.
  • October 20th, 2024, ​11:00 AM – 4:00 PM on SGL 51 - Fayette County, Dunbar Twp.
      • ​​​Starting Location- The tour​ will start across from the SGL 51 maintenance building at 268 Dunbar Ohiopyle Rd, Dunbar, Pa 15431.  (39.9147133, -79.5523173)
